Changing a Shoretel from a Class C to a Class B network in 15 minutes The customer had a working Shoretel on a net work using 192.168.1.xxx and a mask of 255.255.255.0 He was changing his network to 10.10.x.x and a mask of 255.255.0.0 Here are the steps in order for a smooth 15 minute transiton remotely using a non-technical person to turn on and off devices 1: Set up the DCHP server with the new scope and option 156 set for the new address of the HQ server. 2. Telnet to the Shoretel Switch(es) change the IP address of the switch change to the new Gateway address change the FTP server address to the new one do NOT forget change the subnet mask (255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0) 3. Have the user unplug the switch 4. In Shoreware director change the IP address of the switch and save 5. In shoreware director change the address of the Application Server 6. From Director turn off all services in quick look 7. on the server go to cmd line regedit 8. Change BOTH the HQ Server and Database server addresses 9. Go to the control panel 10. Change your Network Card's TCPIP properties includes new address new subnet mask new gateway and probably new DNS addresses 11. Reboot the server 12. Have helper plug in switch and log onto server 13. Flash the POE switch power to restart all phones (phones set for DHCP) Back In Business
